Abstract

This study investigates the complex relationships between science education reforms, educational resource access, and workforce readiness across diverse national school systems. As global economic paradigms shift toward knowledge-intensive and technologically advanced industries, the capacity of secondary school systems to prepare students for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics careers becomes increasingly vital. Drawing on international large-scale assessment data and national labor market integration indicators, this comparative study explores how different policy models and resource allocation mechanisms influence student readiness for contemporary technical and scientific occupations. The findings indicate that while pedagogical reforms emphasizing inquiry-based science education improve analytical skills, their positive effects are heavily mediated by systemic resource equity. Specifically, centralized funding structures and targeted professional development for teachers maximize the returns on science curriculum reforms, whereas decentralized, resource-scarce environments fail to translate pedagogical changes into measurable workforce benefits. The comparative analysis highlights the necessity of aligning curriculum standards with structural investments to ensure equitable and robust workforce readiness on a national scale.
